Mitchell Lab

Dr. Sara Mitchell is a staff neurologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in the division of neurology and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. She completed her neurology residency training at the University of Toronto and fellowship training in neuropsychiatry and cognitive and behavioral neurology from Massachusetts General Hospital at Harvard University.

She obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) from the Harvard School of Public Health with a focus on clinical effectiveness. Dr. Mitchell’s clinical interests are in diseases that sit at the brain-mind interface including neurodegenerative disorders, such as dementia, and neuropsychiatric conditions. She is the director of the Brain Medicine Fellowship at the University of Toronto and the director of the cognitive neurology rotation at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Mitchell has a keen interest in improving the quality of care for patients with complex brain disorders impacting affect, behavior and cognition (ABC). She is focused on innovation within medical education and training, alongside digital health including virtual care.
